Life

Yes, I have been absent again. I have had a sick kid, sick husband and sick dog. Now that things are hopefully back on track, I hope to get back to blogging semi-regularly.

My mom came to visit a few weeks ago. We had her fly in to Nashville so that we could spend a couple of days there when we took her back to catch her plane. Because of someone being sick, we decided to just buy her a ticket to fly home from Jackson. That ended up being a good decision, because not too much later, the brake line went out. Of course, while the brake line was being fixed, the technician discovered that the Rack & Pinion is going out. Another $615 soon, please. He said it can hold off for a bit, but not too long. Sigh...

Last Sunday we had an emergency trip to the vet for Daisy. Thankfully, she appears to be on the mend, but it was really bad there for a bit. We weren't sure if she was going to need surgery, or some other drastic scary thing.

So all in all, our Emergency Fund has taken a pretty big hit. It shouldn't take us too long to build it back up, but I really hate not having it. Keep your fingers crossed that nothing else happens, please!

The chest freezer desperately needs defrosted, so we are going to eat down as much as we can and try to shove the rest in to the freezer above the refrigerator and defrost it. Of course, no one noticed until we were putting away the stuff from grocery shopping, so it may take a week or so. It has made for some creative meals, though. The other day, we made what I called Frankenfreezer soup. We mixed lentil soup, kidney beans, vegetable soup, red beans and rice minus the rice and black bean, tomato and corn chili and Marty's Cheffy Voodoo magic and served it with quesadillas and a salad. It was so good that Ethan ate three bowls!

So that is not even close to everything that has been going on in my blogging absence, but it is a start. Oh!! We finally got the shelves built for over the desk! They look amazing! Way, way better than I thought they would. Christian really outdid himself. I will snap some pictures and get them posted soon.

Have a great Saturday, everyone!

LOL feels good-sat him down and told him each payday we were going to add to it,the xmas club acct, and zach's account no matter what-first thing.....lol gotta show tough love with him I guess----glad to hear MISS DAISY is doing better--was worried for a while.....
